Terms of service
These terms apply when you use Lanewise: the API at api.lanewise.app, the dashboard, and the documentation. By creating an account or using the API, you accept them. If you use Lanewise for a company, you accept them on its behalf and confirm you're allowed to.
The service
Lanewise, reachable at [email protected], lets you store points of interest (POIs), look up their addresses, query them by attributes, categories and location, and plan routes around them, through an API and a dashboard. We keep improving it, so features can change. If we remove something that matters to your paid plan, we'll tell you in advance.
Accounts, teams and API keys
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password safe.
- Each account can have one team on the free plan. Don't create extra accounts or teams to get more free capacity.
- Keep your API keys secret. You're responsible for requests made with your keys, so give each key only the permissions it needs, and deactivate or delete keys you no longer trust.
- Team owners decide who belongs to their team and what each member can do.
Plans, limits and payments
- Each plan sets limits, such as requests per hour, POIs, members and routing calls, as shown in the dashboard and in thedocumentation. Requests over a limit are rejected until it resets.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Prices exclude VAT or sales tax, which is added at checkout where it applies.
- Paid plans are sold through Link, operated by Stripe, as merchant of record. Link processes the payment and issues your receipts and invoices, under its own terms, which you accept at checkout.
- Upgrades and other changes to a paid plan apply immediately and are prorated. Cancelling, or moving back to the free plan, takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep your limits until then.
- Deleting a team cancels its subscription immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period.
- Payments aren't refundable, except where the law requires it or where Link grants a refund under its own terms.
- We may change prices and plans. Changes to your current paid plan take effect at your next renewal after we've given you at least 30 days' notice by email.
- Some plans are only available by agreement. Those follow what we agree with you.
Acceptable use
Don't use Lanewise to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual property;
- store or process data you have no right to use;
- access other teams' data, probe or disrupt our systems, or get around authentication, limits or other protections;
- send traffic meant to overload the service, or resell raw access to the API as your own competing API;
- send malware, spam, or content that is illegal to host.
We may suspend a key, a team or an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other customers at risk. When we can, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it.
Your content
Your POIs, attributes, categories and other data you send us remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and transmit them only as needed to provide Lanewise to you. You're responsible for having the right to use that data, including any personal data it contains.
Address and routing data
Addresses come fromOpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, and are available under the Open Database License (ODbL). If you publish or share address data you got from Lanewise, follow the ODbL, including its attribution requirement. Routes are calculated with OpenRouteService. Map and address data can be incomplete or wrong, so check anything critical before relying on it.
Data processing
When your content includes personal data, you're the controller of that data and we process it for you as your processor, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We:
- process it only to provide Lanewise and following your instructions, which these terms and your use of the service set out;
- make sure everyone with access to it is bound by confidentiality;
- protect it with appropriate security measures, including encryption in transit, access control, and isolation between teams;
- use only the subprocessors listed in ourprivacy policy, and tell you before we add or replace one, so you can object;
- help you respond to requests from the people the data is about, and with security and compliance obligations, where we reasonably can;
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a breach affecting it;
- delete it when you delete it or your team. It then disappears from backups within 7 days;
- give you the information you reasonably need to show these obligations are met.
Availability and support
We work to keep Lanewise fast and available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and there's no service level agreement unless we agree one in writing. We may need maintenance windows. For help, email[email protected].
Ending your use
You can stop using Lanewise at any time by deleting your account in the dashboard. That also deletes the teams only you own and cancels their paid subscriptions, without a refund. We may end these terms for a team or an account with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms. When a team is deleted, its data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Liability
Lanewise is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We'll email account owners about material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Lanewise after that, the new terms apply. If you don't accept them, you can stop using the service before they apply.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes go to the courts of Barcelona, Spain, unless you're a consumer and the law gives you the right to go to the courts where you live.
